Sneak Peek: Charlotte & Phillip {engagement: boston, ma}

So after a long visit with my parents and a family wedding in CT, I got up nice and early to come in to Boston for a shoot with Charlotte & Phillip.  When they booked the engagement shoot and said they wanted to do it at Boston University I got super excited!  The area around Marsh Chapel is bursting with great architecture and fantastic landscaping.  We probably could have spent the entire afternoon there if it wasn't a thousand degrees out!!  Charlotte really wanted a picture in front of a red door...so we searched and searched and eventually we found it.  The two of them had tons of spectators while we took this shot and it really helped them relax and have a little fun!  I can't wait to show you more!!

Sneak Peek: Jessica & Ben! {wedding: bolton, ct}

It has been such a busy week.  My parents were here visiting the house for the first time and I don't think we stopped to breathe for 4 days!  My mother and I are obsessed with HGTV and we held our own version of Curb Appeal and OH MAN does the house look different.  All we did was paint the front door and do some major gardening, but the house looks so different!  I am really starting to feel like I can call this place home :)

Back in March I photographed Jessica & Ben's engagement pictures.  After we shot those, Jessica asked me if I wouldn't mind coming a bit early to the wedding and taking pictures of her and the bridesmaids while they got ready.  I was so honored and of course I said yes!  I'm a bit of a junkie for all things wedding, so to be able to share in the behind the scenes stuff was so exciting!  When I finished, I got to sit back and enjoy the wedding as a guest.  Perfect!  So here is a sneak peek of Jessica before she said I DO!  Check out her beautiful bouquet!  It is made up of antique jewels from family members...LOVE IT!

Beach Day! {kid portraits: marshfield, ma}

I was almost going to call this post "Wonder Woman" but then realized that so-called Wonder Woman was in none of the pictures I was posting...only the offspring of Wonder Woman were...Anyways...

My fellow photog Anne, invited me to join her on a shoot she was doing for her friend Julie.  Anne said it was going to be at the beach and I said SIGN ME UP!  Now, I'm not really a lay on the beach and tan kind of girl (I'm as pasty as it comes!) but I am a photograph on the beach kind of girl!  Little did I know that Julie, also known as Wonder Woman, was going to show up in a giant SUV filled with children...four children...under the age of 6...I went into panic mode!  Anne told me to breathe...  As we shot there were a couple injuries and a few cry sessions, but Julie was as cool as a cucumber the whole time!  I was so impressed :)

Julie, here are your four beautiful children!

Sneak Peek: Laura & Jess {wedding: Boston, ma}

The day finally came and sadly it passed way too quickly...I shot my first wedding!  My new and super dear friend Molly asked me to second shoot this wedding in February and I jumped at the opportunity.  Now I've taken classes and workshops to help prepare me, but I never knew how much I was going to love it!  I think a lot had to do with how amazing Laura & Jess were.  Two very awesome people with such a loving and truly cool family!

So here is a sneak peek of what is to come!

Anne {headshots : marshfield, ma}

Anne is one of my new best friends...mostly because she lives by the beach (haha just kidding!), but really because she's so kind, so talented and so much fun to hang out with!  Recently, I was helping Anne with her blog and we decided to update it with some new headshots.  So off to Marshfield I went!  Marshfield is beautiful and if I hadn't just bought a house in Franklin, Mass...I might have bought one there.  Anne has a beautiful house so we took most of them there and then we also sneaked in to the vacationing neighbors yard for a few more!  Anne also let me tag along for one of her shoots that involved 4 kids on the beach...to be posted soon!

Thanks Anne for such a fantastic afternoon!!

A few of my favorite things {franklin, ma}

When I walk down the street or drive around town I am constantly seeing things that make me scream..."OOH, that's my favorite."  I can't help it.  The details grab me.  I think this is partly why I went in to architecture and also partly why photography has always been such a big part of my life.  In architecture I was always designing the details, but I find that I am much more needy of all things instant.  This is why digital photography and microwave popcorn are perfect for me or in other words, my favorite.  I can instantly capture all the beautiful details of the world that catch my eye and make me backtrack just slightly.

For the last week I have been whispering to all the plants, moldings and doorknobs in and around the house that they are my favorite.  I can't pick just one.  I LOVE every inch of this little old house.  Today, I grabbed some shots of a few of my favorite things so that I could share them with you.  Some were here when I bought the house, some I have added or brought with me ;)

Mr. June has arrived!

Forgive me blog world for it has been over a week since my last post...It has also been over a week since my husband and I moved in to our new home!!!  It has been a crazy week and I'm pretty sure the next few will be as well...but I am loving every second of it!  We've had friends and family stopping by to lend a hand which has been so much fun and very appreciated!  We finally got the grill set up and the washer and dryer(!!!).  We've really only had one tragedy and that was when the cabinet under the kitchen sink decided it's life was over...Jessie warned me this day would come...I was just hoping it would be much much later.  Oh well.  These are the joys and concerns of home ownership.  I will try to get some more pictures up soon and even some Before & After posts!
I have also anxiously been waiting for June to arrive because Rupert is Mr. June!  Mr. Puggle's owner created the Puggle Posse 2010 Calendar to raise money for the Tinely Park P.A.W.S. non-profit organization.   We got the calendar before 2010 even arrived and the months have been passing with many other cute Puggles...but we really just wanted it to be June all the time.  I promised my husband I would wait until June to turn to Rupert...and I did...but I did not promise that it wouldn't be June for the rest of the year! ;)
