The Fridge Magnet {products}

You can tell a lot about a person by what they have attached to their fridge.  I was raised to embrace the magnet, to give it as a gift, to collect it, and to pay way too much money for it.  I find it very unfortunate that mass media has made the Stainless Steel Fridge so popular and has essentially killed the magnet era.   While I too will fall prey to the Stainless Steel Fridge one day, I am currently constantly stressed to the max about where to put my extensive collection in the future.  I am picturing a room painted entirely in magnetic paint and covered in my memories, my passions and my adventures.  My favorite magnet growing up was a simple, one inch circle magnet that said, "The more you complain, the longer God let's you live."  This magnet still resides on my parent's fridge for all to see and to discuss and as a constant reminder that I will live forever ;)  Below are some snapshots of my fridge, which does tell everything about me.  They show my obsession with Cirque du Soleil, Broadway shows, dogs and of course...Elvis ;)  I will tag them all on Facebook!  And of course, more importantly...we have a new product!  MAGNETS!  They are 2.5"X3.5" and super awesome as a collection of 4 or more!

Running of the Brides {wedding shoot : waltham, ma}

In honor of Boston's historical Running of the Brides event held today, I thought I would post some more pictures of the wedding shoot I did a few weeks ago.  Part one was posted here last week.  This second shoot was of a bride & groom.  Although the groom looked to be a little young to be getting hitched, they were a great pair!  I really enjoyed working with them, and wish them much success in their modeling careers.  Now, the important details: The cake was a chocolate cake, which we did get to eat afterwords and yes, I had a tiny piece...even though I hate chocolate!  My love of cake is far greater than my dislike of chocolate flavoring.  Along with this post, I would like to thank Molly for giving me a shot at wedding photography.  Today she booked me as her second shooter for a wedding in June!  I am super excited, super nervous and super concerned over my footwear.  Can't wait for wedding season!

Casey's Top 40! {boston.com: boston, ma}

Does anyone out there remember Casey Kasem?  Well, I do.  I remember sitting by the radio all morning as he counted down the latest and greatest tunes.  I was a radio junky...I used to record the radio on cassette tape.  These days, I rarely listen to the radio because my life, like so many others, has been taken over by Apple.  I've got the iMac, the iPod-mini, the iTouch and somewhere in the depths of my backpack rests a Shuffle...  My point: Today I found out I was a top 40 finalist in a photography contest on www.boston.com and I immediately started humming "Caseeeey's Top Forrr-ty".  This is such an honor as I am desperately trying to redesign my life around something I love so much.  There were 190 entries and one guy (shown here with his pooch Alex) thought I had something.  Thank you Philip Greenspun!  Tomorrow they will announce the top ten, but I don't much care (even though it would be totally awesome!).  I'm just excited to have made it this far!
This photo was taken on a cold January evening just as I was finishing up a homework assignment.  I just loved how I was seeing the car lights shine off in the distance and blur slightly from the cold tears dripping from my eyes.  I wanted to capture it on "film".  In the foreground is a bench, but the focus is the big balls of light sparkling in the distance and reflecting off the water.

Rupert {doggie boudoir : brookline, ma}

So I'm working in my office today and I hear snoring coming from the bedroom...I know Matt is at the gym, so it can't be him.  I look to my feet for Rupert, but it seems my trusty sidekick is not fulfilling his duties.  So I turn my head around the corner (with camera in hand) and see my little dude rolling around the bed in pure Puggle happiness...and then he was caught!

Heidi {bridal shoot : waltham, ma}

This past weekend I was given the opportunity to attend a wedding marketing workshop taught by Lara of The Studio Nouveau.  Lara is so fantastic and I am eternally grateful to her for the knowledge she has shared!  Part of the workshop was doing three wedding/bridal shoots.  I'll post one today and eventually...I'll post the other two.  So keep checking back!  Below is Lara's friend Heidi, who was so wonderful to work with and so beautiful to photograph.  Thanks Heidi and super thank you to Lara!!

Casey {portrait : new hampshire}

In the winter, no one wants to be outside...not even the dogs!  So, I am in full swing with indoor portrait sessions.  This week I wanted to try out some new techniques and my dear and beautiful friend Casey was very eager to join in the blogging fun.  So I hopped in the car on a beautiful Saturday morning and made the trip to New Hampshire.  I was happy to have her and even happier with the results :)

Charlie's Album {products}

Getting a business started is very hard, but with the existence of wonderful printing companies (like mine!) things are moving pretty smoothly!  Here is one of the many exciting products I am offering my clients.  I have to say it turned out just beautifully!  So beautiful, that I am currently protecting it with my life.  I, like so many of my followers, am a pet owner and my little Rupert has a not so little love of chewing ;)  Anywho...This is a 10x10 leather bound album with durable, hard-backed pages and book-style binding. This album features Charlie!
