Jessica & Ben: MARRIED! {wedding : bolton, ct} Part 1

This post is a little bit personal :) Not only was I the hired photographer for part of the event, I was also a guest.  Jessica is my husband's cousin, but the word cousin seems so distant.  Jessica is much closer to both of us than just a cousin.  I met Jessica and Ben about four years ago and when I was around the family, the conversation was always about when they were going to get married.  Everyone knew Ben was a super guy and a perfect match for Jessica that they just wanted them to get married already so they could call Ben family.  Everyone thought they were next so they sat around tapping their toes waiting for the big announcement.  But I suppose my husband and I threw them for a loop when we were the next ones to get married.  SURPRISE!  But even at our wedding..."Now when are Jessica and Ben going to get married???"  So you see, this day held much anticipation!  And now it has come and gone, the newlyweds were happily over here for the Fourth of July, but their wedding has not been forgotten.  I think they bought all the other single family members a few years by creating the most magical, fun and personal wedding any of us have ever seen.  :)

I am going to do this post in two parts because there were just too many details and moments captured for just one post :) 

Congratulations Jessica and Ben!  Now when should we expect the babies???

Crafty Project #1 & Post #50 {franklin, ma}

I am about to lose my desk for a few days because crafty project #2 is commencing tomorrow morning!  Now, you are probably wondering what crafty project #1 was...well take a peek below!  I made a wreath!!  For those of you who are saying..."Big Whoop!" should pop me an e-mail and invite me over for a BBQ, because you clearly don't know me well enough :)  And now I will also disclose that I did not do this on my own.  I had the help of my super awesome and sporadically crafty mother, Christina, who was taught by my even craftier grandmother.  :)  Now, I do have a history of crafty moments (Mop-head Santa Claus, sugar cube pyramid and the Cheerios's get well soon charm).  But honestly, I think I am going to follow in my mother's footsteps as "sporadically crafty."  It was fun folks, but I don't want to use up all that fun too soon ;)

Here is our beautiful door sporting a lovely shade of Martha Stewart Cayenne and a simple, but elegant wreath made by yours truly (and her mother).

Laura & Jess...Married! {wedding : boston, ma}

I think I expressed most of my feelings about this wedding in my Sneak Peek post, but let me just say again how much fun I had at Laura & Jess' wedding!  I think it is truly important to love your job and this thing called photography seems to bring out something so deep in my soul that I get goosebumps just thinking about it.  ;)

So on that happy note, here are Laura & Jess!  Congratulations to you both :)

Sneak Peek: Charlotte & Phillip {engagement: boston, ma}

So after a long visit with my parents and a family wedding in CT, I got up nice and early to come in to Boston for a shoot with Charlotte & Phillip.  When they booked the engagement shoot and said they wanted to do it at Boston University I got super excited!  The area around Marsh Chapel is bursting with great architecture and fantastic landscaping.  We probably could have spent the entire afternoon there if it wasn't a thousand degrees out!!  Charlotte really wanted a picture in front of a red door...so we searched and searched and eventually we found it.  The two of them had tons of spectators while we took this shot and it really helped them relax and have a little fun!  I can't wait to show you more!!

Sneak Peek: Jessica & Ben! {wedding: bolton, ct}

It has been such a busy week.  My parents were here visiting the house for the first time and I don't think we stopped to breathe for 4 days!  My mother and I are obsessed with HGTV and we held our own version of Curb Appeal and OH MAN does the house look different.  All we did was paint the front door and do some major gardening, but the house looks so different!  I am really starting to feel like I can call this place home :) 

Back in March I photographed Jessica & Ben's engagement pictures.  After we shot those, Jessica asked me if I wouldn't mind coming a bit early to the wedding and taking pictures of her and the bridesmaids while they got ready.  I was so honored and of course I said yes!  I'm a bit of a junkie for all things wedding, so to be able to share in the behind the scenes stuff was so exciting!  When I finished, I got to sit back and enjoy the wedding as a guest.  Perfect!  So here is a sneak peek of Jessica before she said I DO!  Check out her beautiful bouquet!  It is made up of antique jewels from family members...LOVE IT!
