Eisenhower House {wedding : Newport, RI}

The last time I was in Newport, my husband and I were celebrating our one year anniversary.  We stayed at the gorgeous Viking Hotel and spent 3 days leisurely exploring the city.  We even sailed into the sunset on the Adirondak II!  When the vacation was over, we knew that we would come back here on a regular basis.  Well, it's been a year and we haven't been back to Newport together...but I've been!  A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at the elegant Eisenhower House in the beautiful Fort Adams State Park.  The couple has requested that I not publish images of them, but here are a few of the venue.  ...Like I said...STUNNING!

Sneak Peek: Maia {portrait : swampscott, ma}

Today was my first Saturday without a wedding or portrait shoot in a really long time...and I have to say it's been pretty amazing.  I watched some football (Michigan wasn't on so I had to watch UCONN...), went for a really long walk with Rupert (where he got to hang with his GF Emma), got a newly acquired piece of art framed and ate some more kettle corn from the giant bag of it that I got at The Big E on Wednesday.  

Last weekend I got to do a portrait shoot with Maia!  Maia is a very serious little girl, but every once in a while she loves to share a giggle or two.

Sneak Peek: Jade & Tim {wedding : Rhode Island}

Back in January I had the opportunity to attend a workshop at CDIA.  It was the most amazing 3-day workshop ever!  It was taught by one of my favorite photographer friends, Lara, of The Studio Nouveau.  At this workshop I was the only one who did not go through the program at CDIA, but was accepted into the group so warmly.  I met so many wonderful people who I still keep in touch with.  One of which is Caitlin of Caitlin Maloney Photography.  Caitlin asked me to shoot a bunch of weddings with her and last weekend was the first one!  This wedding was in Narragansett, Rhode Island at Kinney Bungalow.  One word...AMAZING!  What a beautiful venue, complete with fields of tall grasses, a farm AND a '57 Chevy.  I can't wait to show you more, but for now you just get a little teaser.  Trust me, the wait is going to be worth it!

Darlene & Joe: Married!! {Pawtucket : Rhode Island} Part 2

The weekend is upon us again and I am very excited.  I've got a wedding tomorrow in Narragansett AND I get to have lunch with my photog friend Caitlin at a place named Crazy Burger!  Really, it doesn't get any better!

Darlene & Joe: Married!! {Pawtucket : Rhode Island} Part 1

I have been very lucky in my career to have the opportunity to work with amazing couples and families.  So many of them I call my friends and I even send them Christmas cards.  Darlene & Joe are no exception.  In the middle of our meeting Darlene had to get up to take a phone call.  While I was waiting with Joe, he casually asked..."So how is Rupert?"  Fantastic!  He knew all about my little puggly monster and his importance in my life.  Taking the time to learn a little extra about your photographer can only insure that you are a good match for each other and the relationship just makes the big day a little bit easier for everyone.  Joe and Darlene took the time to go through every gallery and every fun fact...and even after finding out my hatred for oranges and my love of Neil Diamond...they picked me :)  And I think they are pretty awesome too!
